It was in the month of May that Garena introduced its Garena Premier League (GPL) which is a six-month professional league for online gamers with more than 100 matches being played. The inaugural season of GPL includes an League of Legends competition which includes six professional teams. These teams represent the top players of their countries. GPL match and its commentaries can be streamed on the internet. Watchers can access games via the GPL website. In the month of January, Garena revealed that the Garena Premier League's second season began on January 4th, 2013. Garena Premier League, 2013 will feature two teams each made up of Taiwan & Vietnam. There are eight teams is now increased to nine. Teams include: AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. Garena's eSports stadium, which is a venue specifically designed for esports in Neihu District Taipei, opened its doors on November 14 in 2014. The studio opened in November 2014 to coincide with the opening of the League of Legends Masters Series. The league is the world's premier LoL Taiwanese, Hong Kongese, and Macau LoL League which spun off from the GPL. Garena established in the Iron Solari League in January 2015. It's an League of Legends women's tournament which is played within the Philippines. The event is held monthly and organized in the second half of every month. It is designed to increase participation of groups with low representation and is open for all women who identify as female. In addition to tournaments that are competitive, Garena also organizes events that allow users to meet and connect offline.
