Liza Snyder

Snyder is a native of Northampton, Massachusetts. The mother of her, who is a songwriter and singer and father, is a musician. Snyder is also a theatre professor in Smith College. The grandparents of her maternal lineage were five-time Academy Award-winning composer, Johnny Green, and the actress and consumer reporter, Betty Furness. Snyder earned her degree from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City, where she studied under Sanford Meisner. Snyder made her debut in television dramas including The Trials of Rosie O'Neill and Murder, She Wrote. In 1993, she landed the role of Molly Whelan in the ABC and then syndicated crime drama Sirens. The actress co-starred on two TV movies, and also appeared as a guest star as a guest on Chicago Hope and Pacific Blue following the cancellation of the show. She was a regular in The NBC comedy Jesse starring Christina Applegate from 1998-2000. She made her big screen debut in a second part in the Pay It Forward movie directed by Mimi Leder. The same year, Snyder began to star as Christine Hughes in CBS's sitcom Yes, Dear. In the year 2006, the show concluded. Snyder took a break for five years following Yes, Dear. In 2011, Snyder made her return to screen in her guest role as a patient undergoing lung transplantation on House. She reprised her Yes, Dear role in an episode from 2013 of Raising Hope.
