Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father left her household, the actress was grew to maturity by her mother, godparents, and grandmother. As a child Ford was afflicted with anxiety due to an obsessional-compulsive disorder. Ford began performing in her teen years and joined a member of the National Youth Theatre. Ford gained entry to the Sylvia Young Theatre School, however, she decided after one week that she would not be a good choice for this school. Ford was then able to apply for a spot for the Central School of Speech and Drama and received an acceptance on her fourth attempt. A classmate of hers included Shaun Dingwall, who would be later reprise her role as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford was able to graduate in 1993. She already made a TV appearance in a 1992 episode of Surgical Spirit. She adopted the title Catherine Tate. In the Nineties, Tate could be watched on television in programs including The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning. Tate was a regular performer on stage, and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company's 2000-2001 season. Tate gained not long after her recognition for her stand-up comedies, which were added to Tate's show in the year 1996.
