Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actress. She started by releasing funny, well-written lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity and sexuality. Then she expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. Additionally, she was given classical and jazz training later becoming a hip-hop teenager. When she was in high her schooling, she specialized in journalism and woman's studies. She also studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating when she decided to turn her attention to music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks including body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The last track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide published in 2015. Apart from having published a book as well, she also worked singing. Her film credits include films including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
